A Snapshot of Top Platformer Games on Android: Q4 2020 Trends in the US

As the year 2020 came to a close, the platformer games category on Android saw significant activity among its top contenders. Sensor Tower's analysis offers insights into how these games performed in the United States during the fourth quarter.

Join Clash 3D by Supersonic Studios LTD observed a steady increase in downloads, starting at 146K in the last week of September and peaking at 188K in the final week of December. Its weekly active users (WAU) reflected a similar upward trajectory, rising from 720K to 872K in the same period.

Roof Rails, a title by VOODOO, had an impressive growth in downloads, from 16K in the week of its release in late October to a high of 315K in the week leading up to Christmas. Despite not generating revenue at the start, it eventually reached 906 USD in the last week of December. The WAU also showed a substantial increase, starting at 16K and reaching 443K by the end of the quarter.

Another VOODOO game, Stair Run, experienced a significant spike in downloads in early October with 342K, which then gradually declined to 35K by the end of December. WAU followed a downward trend, decreasing from 590K in mid-October to 169K at the year's end.

Subway Surfers from SYBO Games, a long-standing favorite, showed a more stable performance. Revenue fluctuated, with a notable peak of 27K USD in late October, while downloads saw a spike to 125K in the week before Christmas. The game maintained a strong user base, with WAU hovering around 2M throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Cube Surfer! also by VOODOO, saw downloads peak at 128K in mid-October before falling to 105K by year-end. The WAU showed a declining pattern, from just under 1M at the quarter's start to 803K in the final week.
